Cutly: Custom Size Calculator · Last updated October 8, 2026
Cutly: Custom Size Calculator ("the app") is a Shopify app operated by Samed Ertürk. It lets merchants sell products cut to a size the customer enters. This policy explains what information the app handles when a merchant installs it and when a customer uses it on the merchant's storefront.
Information from the merchant's store
When a merchant installs the app, Shopify gives it access to the store through the Shopify API. The app stores:
- The store's myshopify.com domain and the access token Shopify issues to the app.
- The settings the merchant enters in the app: prices per square metre, size limits, shapes and finishes, price rules, and which products are sold in custom sizes.
- Product, variant, inventory item and location identifiers, and the roll stock lengths the merchant keeps in the app.
- A stock ledger: each change to roll stock with its amount, reason, time and, where it came from an order, the Shopify order identifier.
- The name of the subscription plan the store is on.
Information from customers
The app does not collect, store or sell customers' personal information.
When a customer enters a size on a product page, the storefront sends the product, the width and length, and the chosen shape and finish to the app so the price can be calculated on the server. The app stores that size and the calculated price as a signed quote. A quote is not linked to a customer, an account, an email address or a device, and the app sets no cookies.
When an order is placed, Shopify notifies the app. The app reads the order's line items to check the price against the quote and to deduct the ordered length from roll stock. It keeps the order identifier in the stock ledger. It does not store the customer's name, email address, phone number, or shipping or billing address.
How the information is used
- To calculate and verify prices for custom sizes.
- To create and update the variants the app adds to the merchant's products, and to keep roll stock in step with Shopify.
- To show the merchant their orders, stock and settings inside the app.
- To check which plan the store is on.
The information is not used for advertising or profiling and is not sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.
Service providers
The app and its database are hosted by Railway (Railway Corp.). Store data is processed through Shopify's APIs under Shopify's own terms. Subscription charges are handled entirely by Shopify; the app never receives payment card details.
Retention and deletion
- When the app is uninstalled, its access to the store ends and its session data is deleted immediately. Settings are kept for a short time so they are still there if the merchant reinstalls.
- 48 hours after uninstall, Shopify sends a shop redact request and the app deletes everything it holds for that store.
- Variants the app added to products belong to the merchant and stay in the store; the merchant can remove them from the app before uninstalling or from the Shopify admin.
- The app responds to Shopify's customer data request and customer redact requests. Because it stores no personal information about customers, there is nothing to return or erase.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete information about you. Customers should contact the store they bought from, which is the controller of their order data. Merchants can contact us at cutlysupport@gmail.com; we answer within 30 days.
Security
All traffic to the app is encrypted with HTTPS. Requests from Shopify and from storefronts are verified with cryptographic signatures before they are processed.
